Lee Draper, Ph.D.

President, Draper Consulting Group
Lee has over 20 years of experience in philanthropy, including serving as a program officer and director at three major California foundations (The Ahmanson, W. M. Keck, and California Community foundations). In 1990, she founded Draper Consulting Group, which provides services to both grantmakers and nonprofits. The firm has worked with over 35 grantmakers of diverse types and sizes, offering comprehensive services in getting started, strategic planning, grantmaking program design, board governance, staff recruitment and training, and incorporating the next generation of leadership.

Lee is active in the national philanthropic community and is a regular contributor to Foundation News & Commentary under the by-line “Philanthropy in Action.” She has served on the boards of the Los Angeles Women’s Foundation and the Achille Levy Foundation in Ventura, and organized Women Give!, a major initiative by Southern California Grantmakers to expand philanthropic leadership among women. She is founder and Steering Committee Chair of the National Network of Consultants to Grantmakers, whose mission is to harness the expertise and talents of consultants to increase and deepen philanthropy.
