Andre C. Oliver

Andre Oliver has more than 20 years of experience in the public policy and communications arenas, having served in senior roles within government as well as private and corporate philanthropy. Andre is currently a writer and independent advisor to foundations and nonprofit organizations, including assisting a collaborative of foundations and financial institutions improve the health of cities and neighborhoods across the country.

Previously, he was director of communications for the Rockefeller Foundation, one of the nation’s oldest and largest private philanthropies. He served as a primary strategist and spokesperson on a range of institutional and policy initiatives for the Foundation. Andre was also a vice president at Cablevision Systems Corporation, a New York-based media and entertainment company, in charge of its corporate giving program and community affairs outreach.

In the 1990s, Andre served in various roles within the Clinton Administration, including special assistant to the President in the Office of Public Liaison, and director of communications and strategic planning at the U.S. Peace Corps. He also took a hiatus from government to serve as an election monitor in South Africa’s historic 1994 presidential elections.

A native of Washington, D.C., Andre received his bachelor’s degree from Tufts University in 1984.
