Growing Healthy Minds - Public Education Campaign

First 5 Riverside


Hershey Cause Communications was hired by First 5 Riverside, the Riverside Children and Families Commission to develop and implement the Primary Prevention, Education and Outreach campaign for First 5 Riverside’s Mental Health Initiative. The goals of the campaign were to educate parents/caregivers about the social-emotional health of their young children, reduce stigma and provide helpful resources to the community.


Hershey Cause Communications conducted focus groups to better understand perceptions of existing mental health resources and other key barriers and opportunities. The resulting Growing Healthy Minds/Cultivando Mentes Saludables campaign has generated more than 2.4 million impressions. The Growing Healthy Minds campaign also received international attention: tip sheets from the program were requested for use by the Canadian government.
