Capital Campaign

The Accelerated School

BACKGROUND 

An innovative LAUSD charter school in South Los Angeles, The Accelerated School (TAS) uses a public/private partnership model that serves both the educational and "whole child" needs of its students in a challenging urban environment. TAS is built on the belief that good schools transform communities.

Hershey Cause led our diverse board to consensus on capital campaign strategy and created materials that captured our mission. Their outreach on our behalf generated public awareness that resulted in recognition as Time Magazine’s Elementary School of the Year.

STRATEGY 

Hershey Cause Communications provided communications counsel to TAS during a critical capital campaign and, subsequently, to secure much-needed visibility and awareness at an important juncture in the school’s development.

OUTCOME As a direct result of our efforts, TAS was named Time magazine’s “School of the Year”. The current capital campaign exceeded expectations and the TAS school has a 1,000 child waiting list.
