The Accelerated School

An innovative Los Angeles Unified School District pre-K-12 charter school in South Los Angeles, The Accelerated School (TAS) has become a national model for education reform and professional development. TAS is a collaborative public/private entity that serves both the education and “whole child” needs of its students in a challenging urban environment. The school is built on the belief that good schools transform communities.

Hershey|Cause provided communications counsel to TAS during a critical capital campaign and, subsequently, to secure much needed visibility and awareness at an important juncture in the school’s development.

In addition, Hershey|Cause developed a broad-ranging family of collateral materials – from annual reports to Web sites – and strengthened the organization’s identity.

As a direct result of our efforts, TAS was named Time magazine’s “School of the Year.” Its current capital campaign is on target and the school now has a 1,000-child waiting list.
