The BRITE Center supports the innovative use of scientific research and policy development to help eliminate disparities in physical and mental health for underserved communities. The acronym BRITE comes from the center's mission: to Bridge Research, Innovation, Training and Education on Minority Health Disparities.
To help the center advance its mission Hershey Cause helped determine how to reach a spectrum of audiences that are all critical to the center’s work – university administrators; students; community members and leaders; and policymakers. In order for sometimes arcane and dry academic research to reach these diverse audiences and have impact, the BRITE Center had to create a vibrant space to tell its stories about how researchers, policymakers, community members and students are working together to fuel change. With a new website, new branding, a new visual language, and a series of reports, all scheduled to launch in late October, 2011, the center blends an eye-catching environment with stories about how research has the potential to make a real difference in communities. Hershey Cause is continuing to work with the center by identifying strategic funding opportunities and continuing to expand the center’s presence and impact through targeted social media.
