California Community Foundation
Since 1915, the California Community Foundation (CCF) has helped the people of Los Angeles by funding programs as diverse as the city it serves. One of the nation’s oldest and largest community foundations, CCF is building a brighter future for all Angelenos through effective philanthropy and civic engagement.
To inform the Foundation’s strategic planning process, Hershey|Cause created and executed an in-depth communications audit to gauge perceptions of key audiences, including donors, grantees and community leaders. After evaluating and testing the Foundation’s organizational identity, position and key messages, we identified gaps and opportunities in CCF’s existing communications vehicles.
Our findings informed CCF’s board and senior management efforts while creating a baseline for measuring the effectiveness of future communications. In the words of CCF Senior Vice President Joe Lumarda, the audit ensured that the Foundation is “heard, understood and valued.”
