Childrens Hospital Los Angeles
Founded in 1901, Childrens Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) has been treating the most seriously ill and injured children in Los Angeles for more than a century. It is acknowledged throughout the United States and around the world for its leadership in pediatric and adolescent health. CHLA also is one of America’s premier teaching hospitals, affiliated with the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California for 75 years.
CHLA asked Hershey|Cause to create an awareness campaign featuring celebrity events and publicly recognizing the key volunteers, donors and celebrity spokespeople across Southern California who make the hospital’s work possible. The campaign also was designed to build awareness of CHLA’s vital research and patient care.
Our press outreach resulted in nearly 10 million impressions on local involvement in Lance Armstrong’s annual Tour of Hope™ cross-country bike ride, keyed to the participation of a father who credits CHLA with saving his son’s life. Publicity around events with Jennifer Lopez and other celebrities resulted in an additional 1.4 million impressions, including photo spreads and donor profiles in notable luxury magazines including
Los Angeles Confidential,
Brentwood,
Los Angeles and
Palm Springs Life.
We also provided media outreach and garnered celebrity and strategic partnership support to launch the inaugural Kids on the Run event to raise funding for CHLA’s Division of Emergency Medicine, securing nearly 1 million media impressions.
