Dr Pepper

Dr Pepper is the oldest major soft drink in America, dating back to 1885. Today, it remains one of the most popular brands in the beverage sector.

Hershey|Cause’s success in consumer marketing and cause marketing appealed to Dr Pepper, for whom we developed a campaign to boost sales of its core products in conjunction with a national event promotion and in-store contest. The effort included a cause-marketing agreement with nonprofit partner the Tournament of Roses. The campaign integrated Dr Pepper’s in-store promotions and product packaging with its Rose Parade float design – and reflected concerns and considerations we learned when interviewing bottlers and visiting stores as part of the research process.

The uniformly branded, cohesive campaign boosted Dr Pepper’s retail sales for this period by more than 10 percent over the previous year, while a percentage of proceeds benefited the Tournament of Roses.
