First 5 LA serves the nation's most populous and diverse county, working to ensure that the children of Los Angeles County – from the prenatal stage through age 5 – are healthy, safe and ready to learn. To help First 5 LA educate parents about the importance of the first five years of life, Hershey|Cause produced PSAs that appear on Transit TV throughout Los Angeles County beginning in February 2011 and running through May 2011.
The campaign "Give Your Child the Best Start in Life" features the Garcia family who are demonstrating tips to help parents raising children from 0-5. Ten PSAs were developed in both English and Spanish and focus on literacy, nutrition, physical activity, preparing for kindergarten, the importance of breastfeeding, oral health and prenatal care. The Spanish and English versions of the PSAs are on a rotating schedule in order to ensure that the messages reach as many parents and caregivers as possible. The Transit TV spots will drive parents to the Ready. Set. Grow! website where they will find tips and resources that accompany each parenting issue. Check out the spots below!
