Metropolitan Community Churches
Since its founding in 1968, Metropolitan Community Churches (MCC) has grown into a denomination of approximately 300 churches in 18 countries with tens of thousands of members. Its mission includes addressing civil and human rights and working toward the abolition of racism, sexism, homophobia, ageism and other forms of oppression.
MCC approached Hershey|Cause with a challenge: how to create an identity for the international parent organization that also could perform as adaptable companion identities for its associated ministries. The solution had to be very flexible but also true to the calling of MCC.
Hershey|Cause embarked upon a comprehensive, cooperative effort with MCC’s leaders across the country and around the world. We examined the organization’s depth and breadth, then created an effective and inspiring communications program and helped implement it across the network of churches.
In a testament to its success, more than 90 percent of MCC’s associated ministries have voluntarily embraced the new identity.
