Orange County’s Credit Union
Orange County’s Credit Union (OCCU) – a nonprofit, member-owned financial institution in Southern California – is ranked in the top 2 percent of credit unions nationwide. Founded in 1938, OCCU now has more than $855 million in assets and 82,000 members. The credit union aims to offer innovative services and prudent financial management to help its member-owners fulfill their dreams.
OCCU had just completed an aggressive, 10-year strategic business plan when it tapped Hershey|Cause to provide communications counsel. OCCU tasked us with helping it rebrand and compete with other financial institutions to solidify its regional leadership.
Hershey|Cause conducted a comprehensive analysis of the organization and the marketplace. We then developed a visual identity and marketing communications system that integrated previously disconnected materials. The new identity and materials communicated the vibrant energy and consumer focus that were informed by the credit union’s strategic direction, yet differentiated it from competing financial institutions.
